Our setting is the suburb of Glenelg in Adelaide, South Australia, during Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee (1887). This coastal suburb, now part of the local government area of the City of Holdfast Bay, is the oldest European settlement on mainland South Australia.
An understanding of Glenelg’s architectural heritage is necessary before we select buildings to inspire our setting. Surviving buildings constructed during or prior to 1887 show style and decorative trim characteristic of their era. They serve as valuable sources of 3D modeling and texture details for their contemporaries that have since been demolished or otherwise destroyed.
